This searchable, digital version of the Gale Literary Criticism series of reference books contains these printed works: Classical and Medieval Literature Criticism, Contemporary Literary Criticism, Drama Criticism, Literature Criticism 1400-1800, Nineteenth-Century Literature Criticism, Poetry Criticism, Shakespeare Criticism, Short Story Criticism, and Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism. With commentary on books and plays by scholars past and present, the student can determine the influence of politics, religion, and social mores on the critique of classic works.
Combining Gale Group’s core literary databases in a single online service, LRC provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from every age and literary discipline. Literature Resource Center covers more than 120,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,500 of the most-studied authors.
Drawn from 13 volumes in the reference-book series of the same title, this service includes 2,060 essays on 1,600 authors of all nationalities, time periods, and literary genres. Each essay runs 15-20 pages in length and includes a brief introduction and a biography that puts the author’s work in personal and historical context.
