The Book Wizard
The Garden City Public Library’s Children’s Department has created a social storybook for children with autism, which features a wizard doll visiting the Library. The book was created and designed by the Library’s Children’s Department with funds from the federal Library Services & Technology Act, awarded to the New York State Library by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
For younger readers, an abridged version of this title is also available. A hardcopy of the book is available in the Children’s Room office to check out or view at the Library.
This award-winning, online curriculum for children in preschool through kindergarten lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning success, providing strength in these core subject areas: math, science, social studies, language and literacy, art, and music. The curriculum is theme based and fully interactive with sound cues.
