All print-outs in the Computer Lab and the Young Adult Computer Center will cost 10¢ per page. Free pages are not available. Sufficient funds must be present in the user’s account to cover the entire cost of a print job or it will not begin.

Balances on a library card remain indefinitely, but visitor-pass accounts are automatically deleted at the end of each day. When putting money on a Garden City Public Library visitor’s pass, remember that no refund will be given if a balance remains.

When printing email, use the print link within the email system, not the Internet Explorer File menu or toolbar. In Yahoo Mail, use the “More” link at the upper right corner of the message, then click on “Print” in the drop-down menu.  In gMail and many other systems, the link looks like a printer, similar to the icon to the right of this paragraph – not to be confused with the one on the Internet Explorer toolbar at the top of the window.  In HotMail, also known as Windows Live or Outlook, you will find the print command by clicking on the three dots ( . . . ) at the top of the message.  If you print from the Internet Explorer File menu or the printer icon on the Internet Explorer toolbar, you will get an incomplete print-out and you may cause Internet Explorer to crash.

To prevent errors when printing from Adobe Reader, do not start a second print job until all pages of the first job have left the printer.

Always preview your document before printing. In Internet Explorer, click on “File,” then click on “Print preview” in the drop-down menu. If you do not see a menu in the window, click the right mouse button on the page and select “Print preview” from the context menu.

If you are printing multiple copies of a document, always print a single proof copy first. After you have checked the content and format for errors, then print the rest of your copies.
